Alexis Petridis is a British journalist, head rock and pop critic for UK newspaper The Guardian, as well as a regular and contributor to the magazine GQ.[1]
Petridis began his career writing for Varsity whilst a student at the University of Cambridge. He was the final editor of now defunct music magazine Select and also writes a weekly column in the fashion section of The Guardian's Weekend section.
He has won the "Record Reviews Writer of the Year" category at the Record of the Day awards six times, from 2005 to 2010.[2] He also won the "Artist and Music Features: Writer of the year" in 2006.[3]
